Mt Alice
Mount Alice in Seward, Alaska is the tallest mountain in the area and offers stunning views of Resurrection Bay and Seward:
- Location: Mount Alice is located in the Kenai Mountains, 6.2 miles northeast of Seward. It's the most prominent peak on the east skyline across Resurrection Bay.
- Elevation: Mount Alice is over 5,315 feet in elevation.
- Name: The mountain was named after Alice Lowell Scheffler (1879–1965).
Mt Marathon
Mount Marathon is a prominent peak located near Seward, Alaska, known for its challenging hiking trails and stunning views. Rising to about 3,022 feet (921 meters), it's famous for the annual Mount Marathon Race, which has been held since 1915.
Mt Eva
Mount Eva is another notable peak in the Seward area of Alaska, situated within the Kenai Peninsula. It stands at approximately 3,200 feet (975 meters) and is less frequently visited than some of its more famous neighbors, like Mount Marathon.
The mountain offers stunning views of Resurrection Bay and the surrounding landscapes, making it a rewarding hike for those who venture there. The terrain can be rugged, and while it presents a challenge, it is often considered less crowded than other trails, allowing for a more solitary experience in nature.
Tie Hacker
Tiehacker Mountain is a lesser-known but beautiful peak near Seward, Alaska. It stands at around 2,850 feet (869 meters) and offers impressive views of the surrounding landscapes, including Resurrection Bay and the nearby Kenai Mountains.Located 11 km (7 mi) northeast of Seward and 4 km (2.5 mi) east of Bear Lake. Tiehacker is a nickname for locals who fashioned railroad ties from trees as a source of winter income during the construction of the Alaska Railroad in the early 1900's.
